Varden Kenzei, Orin, and Bartholemuel arrive in Harnx, where the Duke Olivier receives them as honored guests and immerses them in luxury.

Varden soon learns, however, that Olivier is a cruel dictator who forces the poverty-ridden inhabitants of the town to work in the paper mill which generates his fortune. Not liking this at all, the party fights the Duke to near death, before he flees into the catacombs beneath the Paper Mill.

From the Duke's coffers, Bartholemuel takes three gems, a Sword +1 and Field Plate Armor +1, Orin takes a Sword +2 and half the money, and Varden takes some potions and half the money, most of which he gives to the townspeople.
