The town of Corach (CORE-ock) sits between branches of the River Laoigh in the schir of Chairbre, kingdom of Mumhan on the island of Hyberne.
In A.I. 1324, Lóchán mac Mergin founded a monastary south of the marshes that lie along the River Lough.
Human settlers, realizing that the river and marshes provided a natural defense, established a village on a patch of high ground between the river's two main branches.
An expedition of dwarves from Nóregr arrived in A.I. 1376 and soon built a port im the middle of the town.
The town was officially chartered in A.I. 1439.
Humans, elves, and dwarves in roughly equal proportions make up the majority of towns four hundred or so residents. A handful of halfling families live in Corach, as do a few gnome merchants and craftsmen. While half-elves are not uncommon, half-orcs are completely unheard of.
The town is entirely surrounded by stone walls of dwarven construction, with a large gate protecting the port. The North and South Towers and their attached bridges allow the only access by land.
Most structures are made of wood, although a few were built using brick or stone. The streets are paved with cobblestones on sand.
Landmarks include the Temple of Ägir, the Temple of Brigantia Cælestis, Central Hall, and the Armory.
