Elig (EH-lick) sits atop Elge Yland [EL-jay EYE-land] in the marshes of Sanfhéith, which constitute the northern half of Shire Grentesca in the Kingdom of Myrce.
The city originated with the foundation of a joint monastery and abbey by Ætheldryd Tondbrif in A.I 1427, a mile to the north of the abandoned village of Cractiden on Elge Yland.
Siomon Walchelin began construction of a temple in A.I. 1437, and Castle Ciris was built in A.I. 1497.
Trone Academy, a day and boarding school, was founded in A.I. 1524 by the local religious orders. Ecgwulf Cenwhyn issued a royal charter for the school in A.I. 1541, and granted the first annual Fair in A.I. 1543.
Castle Ciris fell in A.I. 1570, and no visible traces remain. A windmill stands on the hill where the castle once rose above the town.
The Acemanne Road, which connects Cyrneceast to Verlumion, runs through the town, providing a continuous flow of visitors.
